Wwe Nxt has taped the rest of their TV shows leading into SummerSlam weekend and the biggest NXT event of the year – the annual WWE NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn. With the WWE spoilers for the taped television shows, most of the NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn matches are set. Here is what fans can expect to see at the big TakeOver event that takes place on Aug. 19 on the WWE Network.

The NXT title match

While it looked like NXT was positioning Roderick Strong for a big match against current NXT champion Bobby Roode, the two of them actually wrestled on NXT television.

Strong looked like he won the NXT title but Roode had his leg under the ropes and was able to get away with a cheap win. That led to a No. 1 contender match between Drew McIntyre and Sanity member Killian Dain. That match ended with McIntyre beating Dain and giving the big man his first loss. The main title match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn will see Bobby Roode vs. Drew McIntyre with the winner facing Roderick Strong next.

The other title matches

At the last major NXT TakeOver event, Ember Moon had to pull out of the women’s title match due to injury. This time, it is Ember Moon finally getting the chance at the undefeated Asuka and the NXT women’s title. The other major title match is the tag team titles.

While it looked like Heavy Machinery was getting the title shot, NXT swerved the audience and placed Sanity in the title picture as they will face fellow heels The Authors of Pain.

Johnny Gargano returns

The last time Johnny Gargano was seen in competition, his DIY tag team partner Tomasso Ciampa turned on him and put him out of commission.

The man known as Johnny Wrestling came back to NXT this last week and said he is ready to move on with his singles career. That will start in Brooklyn as he fights Andrade “Cien” Almas. In that match, Almas will be seconded by the former Thea Trinidad, who is now known as Zolita Vega.

The final scheduled match will see Kassius Ohno batting the recently turned heel Hideo Itami. After working as a face since signing with the WWE, Hideo Itami has suffered through numerous injuries that killed his push.

The WWE might be hoping the new heel change will push Itami back up the card and make fans respond to him once again. That is all that is scheduled right now but there is also a chance that Aleister Black could get a shot to wrestle on the NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn card as well. The show will air on the WWE Network on Aug. 19 the weekend of SummerSlam.
