#La Clippers rumors produced some good news on Friday (June 30). #Blake Griffin will sign a huge contract with the Clippers, keeping him in Los Angeles for the time being. This means Griffin won't follow All-Star point guard Chris Paul out of town and immediately becomes the primary leader of the Clippers. Now fans of the team are asking what the next move will be for the franchise, as they still have to find someone to improve the roster.

Blake Griffin re-signs with the LA Clippers on a five-year deal worth either $173 or $175 million. Those specific details won't come out just yet, as the official deal hasn't been approved by the league just yet.

Either way, it makes Griffin the highest-paid player on the Clippers' roster and it gives him a huge bump in salary from the 2016-17 NBA season. This also puts an end to previous NBA rumors about teams like the Boston Celtics looking to sign Griffin.

What will LA Clippers do without Chris Paul?

On June 28, it was announced that the LA Clippers were trading All-Star point guard Chris Paul to the Houston Rockets. Paul was a free agent who could have signed with any NBA franchise, but he let the front office of the Clippers know that he was interested in going to Houston. Rather than simply lose Paul for nothing in return, the Clippers worked out a sign-and-trade deal with the Rockets. This will at least give Blake Griffin some new teammates to work with next season.

To complete the Chris Paul deal, the Los Angeles Clippers will receive Patrick Beverley, Sam Dekker, Lou Williams, and a 2018 first-round pick from the Houston Rockets. Those are some good role players, with the expectation that Beverley could take over as the starting point guard for the Clippers. With Jamal Crawford still on the roster, though, adding Lou Williams to the bench seems like overkill.

Could this mean more moves are coming for the Clippers?

More Clippers rumors about landing possible free agents

In addition to losing Chris Paul, the Clippers are very close to losing starting shooting guard J.J. Reddick as well. This has given birth to more LA Clippers rumors, as the team will need to add some additional players in free agency.

Names that have come up during the NBA offseason include Rudy Gay, Danilo Gallinari, and Andre Iguodala. With Iguodala, he could be looking for a pay raise, giving him reason to leave the Golden State Warriors soon.

The Clippers will need to move quickly, as there was additional action around the NBA on Friday when the Indiana Pacers traded Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder. This means the Boston Celtics will be pressing hard to add more pieces (quickly), so a race for the remaining talent could be on. Fans of the team should definitely expect more LA Clippers trade rumors to surface as NBA free agency officially opens on July 1.
