The New York Knicks and Carmelo Anthony are not in a good place right now as the player no longer wants to be part of the NBA team. According to sources, he is asking to be traded to the Houston Rockets.

Anthony has had a public beef with New York Knicks’ president, Phil Jackson. Later, the NBA team became very open by saying that they were looking to trade Anthony. However, them forcing out Anthony from the team did not do them well because now that they are trying to get him back, he no longer wants to. He is also demanding for the trade to happen.

Anthony will only waive no-trade clause for Rockets

CBS Sports said that the Rockets has been trying to acquire Anthony from the New York Knicks. However, because the Knicks had a new general manager, Scott Perry, and he wanted Anthony back on the roster for at least one more season, the trade did not push through. In a statement made by Anthony to the New York Post during his appearance on SportsCenter on Tuesday, he said that he has made it clear to the Knicks that he wants to go to Houston. He added that he is not “interested in talking to you about being reincorporated back into this New York roster.”

Why Houston Rockets is interested in Anthony

Rockets wanted Anthony in their team to play alongside Chris Paul.

They believe that having this duo would give them a shot to against the Golden State Warriors.

If Houston Rockets get Anthony, Ryan Anderson will be given up, but it is unclear to what team will he go to. The New York Knicks will not want Anderson in their team as they plan to build a younger roster to play alongside Kristaps Porzingis, Yahoo Sports reported.

The New York Knicks reportedly want players who are 25 years old and younger. They also hope to acquire free agents rather than get players through the trading block.

A third and fourth team is reportedly in talks with New York Knicks and Houston Rockets. The two other teams are under wraps, but reports said that this would be the only way for Rockets to get Anthony and for New York Knicks to get younger players.

The issue between Anthony and the New York Knicks is yet to be resolved. It is possible that he will not be moved until August or even September per league sources.

Trail Blazers' Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum claim Anthony interested in joining team

According to Bleacher Report, these two NBA players with the Portland Trail Blazers came forward with the claim that they talked to Anthony and the New York Knicks player is interested in joining their team. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum were at basketball camp on Wednesday and said that they have talked to Anthony and they believe he is interested playing with them.

McCollum reportedly said that if they have Anthony on their team, they will be a top-three team in the West.

Other reports claimed, however, that despite the Portland Trail Blazers' players making efforts to persuade him to waive his no-trade clause, the NBA team is not on his mind.
