Pep Guardiola is a master of football managerial techniques. He won numerous trophies with Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Pep Guardiola is acclaimed as one of the best European football managers.

But since he has overtaken the Etihad Stadium as the manager of manchester city, he has not won any silverware or major trophies.

He lost six record games, for the first time in his managerial career, in his debut season in the English Premier League (EPL). Additionally, Manchester City finished at third place. One year ago, they were expected to top the league under the supervision of Guardiola.

But Man City ended the season with 15 and 8 points behind the Chelsea and Spurs, respectively. It is a huge difference, considering the quality of the squad and the man in charge, Pep himself.

What possibly went wrong? Why his world-beater managerial tactics did not work in Manchester?

Did Premier League challenge harder than he thought?

Here are a few reason of “Why Pep Guardiola failed at Manchester City”?

Unnecessary changes

Too much tinkering with the Man. City team is one of the biggest reasons he failed at Manchester. Pep Guardiola is a big fan of FC Barcelona and he wanted to implement his La Liga theories at Manchester. It involved plenty of changes in the playing style of the players. Unfortunately, the changes did not work.

The players never seem confident, throughout the season because of Pep's poor strategy.

He should have fixed the problems and weak spots of the squad rather than inventing another FC Barcelona.

Poor decisions in the defense department

Poor defense was a problem for the club, throughout the season. Manchester City conceded 39 goals in Premier League, 13 more than Totten ham Hotspurs.

Joseph let Joe Hart go to the Torino F.C. Joe Hart was the first choice goalkeeper of the England National Team and Man. City. On the top of all this mess, the new signings in the defensive area were not rewarded. John Stones and Claudio Bravo cost £47.5 million and £17 million, respectively. Both players failed to impress the fans and the manager.

Again, lack of confidence was one of the reasons of the failure.

Poor performance by Attack

There is no doubt, Manchester City has the best players in the playmaking department to support Sergio Aguero, Kelechi Iheanacho and Gabriel Jesus. The attacking player missed many opportunities created by David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling.

Because of offside, the Citizens lost many decisive goals, one of them was against Manchester United.

Now, the question is, Will Pep learn from his mistakes and lift trophies next season or will Manchester struggle again?
