No one would have ever thought the Los Angeles Galaxy would earn ten points from four road games after their slow start to the season. After last Saturday's barren draw with DC United, LA Galaxy gained a feat no one thought was attainable for them, as they held DC United to a 0-0 stalemate. Elsewhere, in the league, it was Alan Gordon who scored the winning goal for Colorado Rapids in a come from behind win against Columbus Crew Sc at the Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The both teams' goalkeepers made heroic saves in the encounter.

DC United 0, LA Galaxy 0

It was a lucky night for the both teams goalkeepers at the RFK Stadium as both Jon Kempin and Bill Hamid registered clean-sheets, despite facing six fabulous shots on goal each. Roman Alessandrini's “booming” qualities and confidence was showcased early on, driving a close range efforts into the hands of DC United goalie Bill Hamid just seven minutes into the encounter. Before the first half break, LA Galaxy's third choice goalkeeper Jon Kempin was put to test, making back to back saves “ensuing” a DC United set piece.

The closest chance of the evening was not denied through a superb save, but by the far post. In the seventy-second minute, Luciano Acosta made a witty run inside the box and powered a shot that struck the lower crossbar.

Both teams will try to take advantage of the international bye-week before returning to action for the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. DC United will play hosts to amateur side Christos FC, while LA Galaxy will return home to face off Orange County SC.

Colorado Rapids 2, Columbus Crew SC 1

Colorado Rapids spent most of the second forty-five minutes behind, as Columbus Crew SC broke the deadlock in the sixtieth minute.

Crew SC hitman Federico Higuain took a long range shot that seemed certain to hit the target. Immediately after the ball rebound, Michael Azira hurriedly sent the ball past Colorado Rapids goalkeeper Zac MacMath to put the visitors ahead. Rapids began to come back late in the game, thanks to an equalizing effort in the eightieth minute.

Marlon Hairston managed to find forward Kevin Doyle moving towards the penalty box and lay the ball to him. The striker wasted no to level up the scoreline for the hosts. Six minutes after the equalizer, substitute Alan Gordon headed home the winner off a Josh Gatt's cross to snatch a come from behind win for Colorado Rapids, making the scoreline 2-1 at full time.
