Juan Carlos Osorio's Mexico roster may look a little different this time as Liga MX defending champions CD Guadalajara popularly known as Chives, have ten of their players named to the El Tri forty-man provisional roster ahead of July's CONCACAF Gold Cup. Surprisingly, the likes of Andres Guardado, Hector Moreno, and Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez were left-off the forty-man provisional squad, though, there's still a lot of talents at Juan Carlos Osorio's disposal. Houston Dynamo's Erick 'Cubo' Torres and Club America's Oribe Peralta highlight the list of strikers, while veteran Rafa Marquez brings leadership and experience in the backline.

The preliminary roster includes thirteen players who're currently at camp, preparing to play against United States and Honduras in their World Cup qualifying games. Six of the present twenty-nine players will then leave camp after the match against US men's national team in Mexico City and will not take part in the upcoming FIFA Confederation Cup later in Russia. Here is Mexico's 40-man provisional squad ahead of its Gold Cup campaign. I also indicated the clubs each of them plays for.
