The Nebraska football team didn't get a commit on Tuesday night, but they did get yet another piece of good news when it comes to their 2018 class. Joshua Moore, who is considered among the best wide receivers in the country narrowed the list of schools he's considering attending next year to five. It turns out Nebraska made the cut for yet another round.

The official announcement

Moore had been hinting that something was coming for a little while now. He seemed to be feeling some pressure to announce ... something and to his credit, he's not ready to name his final choice just yet.

Far too often these highly touted players get a bit tired of the grind that can come along with being contacted by so many coaches so often. Some players are willing to pull the trigger in order to get a moment's peace.

Moore decided he wasn't ready to cause a full stop, but he is ready to tell the world what he's thinking about the possibility of his next school. The IMG academy receiver tweeted out the list of schools that made the cut and there aren't a whole lot of surprises. Along with Nebraska, Moore says he is still considering Florida State, Texas A&M, LSU and Alabama. Certainly, the Huskers Football Team is going to have its work cut out for it with those schools still in the running.

There is clearly a regional lean for Moore, though he has shown quite a bit of interest in Nebraska and what it has to offer since they started recruiting him. Perhaps the good news here is that there aren't any other Big Ten schools that have managed to get their foot in the door. If the receiver does choose one of the other four, beating out Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State is going to be cold comfort, but at least shows Nebraska making some progress when it comes to recruiting against their conference football rivals.

More national attention for Nebraska football

The announcement that Joshua Moore is giving Nebraska a long look is just the latest big-time story fo a recruit not only being pursued by the Cornhuskers but also showing real interest. The school is already ranked 8th in the 2018 recruiting classes on a number of services. Moore is currently ranked as the 13th receiver in the entire class, he's the 16th best player in the entire state of Florida and he's the 71st ranked player at any position in this class, according to 247Sports. If the Nebraska football team could get Joshua Moore to say he's coming to Lincoln, it would be another in what has a been a long line of huge gets.
