On a recent podcast run by Cavalier teammates Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye titled "Uninterrupted Road Trippin,'" Kyrie Irving spoke about Lonzo Ball and the influence his dad has on his life and his future career in the NBA. A lot of speculation has been made about the Ball family, especially the bread-winner of the family, Lavar Ball. Many NBA legends, stars, and basketball analysts have spoken about the family. The Ball brothers and their dad have become a household name in just the past year for a few reasons.

One reason is the terrific performances and highlight plays Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo have achieved on the basketball court.

A lot of videos of them performing flashy moves have gone viral on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. But the main reason for all the talk has been because of their father, and the ridiculous and controversial statements he has made about his boys in the past year. Comparing his son Lonzo to Michael Jordan and his son LaMelo to Stephen Curry frustrated many, but that ultimately just brought more attention to the family, resulting in them becoming more and more famous. But, this is something Uncle Drew isn't happy about.

Kyrie let's LaVar know what's up

Kyrie Irving has faced many on the court and off the court challenges that helped him grow into who he is today. He has also had many great veteran leaders to help him along the way, including Anderson Varejao, LeBron James, Kendrick Perkins and many more.

So Kyrie knows all about what leadership means, and how it affects a young basketball player. Kyrie sent a message to LaVar Ball about his fathering of Lonzo, he said:

"I'm sorry LaVar, you're not going to be in every hotel room that Lonzo is going to be in. You're not going to be everywhere and part of his life as he continues to grow up.

You got to let go. He's 19 years old. Don't get me wrong, I don't want it to bypass him being a father, but he's got to let Lonzo be Lonzo for the long haul."

This is a strong message from Uncle Drew. He believes LaVar is making all the decisions for Lonzo and not letting him grow up the way he wants to.

Lonzo will be challenged in the NBA

Moving from college to the NBA is usually a large enough challenge for a young player, but according to Kyrie Irving and many others, this challenge has been amplified with the trash talk and statements Lonzo's father LaVar Ball has been making recently. Kyrie mentioned that the elite point guards in the league will go at Lonzo, and try to make their own statement against him.

A Kyrie Irving ankle-breaker is certainly something Lonzo Ball may have waiting for him once he enters the league.
