On Sunday night, Real Madrid clinched its thirty-third La Liga title, after beating CF Malaga 2-0. A second minute strike from playmaker Cristiano Ronaldo gave Real Madrid an early-lead, after the attacking midfielder finished-off Isco through ball. Later in the fifty-fifth minute, French forward Karim Benzema doubled the visitors lead, finishing from close-range. It was the attacker's eleventh La Liga goal of the season.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas made six fabulous saves with clean sheet, while the hosts was shut-out for the first-time since 15th April.

The win sealed the 2016-17 La Liga title for Real Madrid, who had won their last five league games prior to last Sunday's finale. Elsewhere, Premier League champions Chelsea close out the 2016-17 season on a winning note at the Stamford Bridge, while Tottenham Hotspur spanked relegated Hull City.

Liverpool Football Club and Manchester City earned the last two Champions League berth after their “dominant” wins to end the 2016-17 season. In Italy, Juventus clinched its thirty-third Serie A crown, defeating Crotone 3-0 in Torino. In Germany, Bayern Munich clinched its twenty-seventh Bundesliga title after shutting out Freiburg.
