This June, the 2017 NBA Draft will take place with teams looking to acquire the next big superstar of the future. Among the names being touted as hot prospects are Washington Huskies guard Markelle Fultz, Kansas small forward Josh Jackson, and UCLA guard Lonzo Ball. Those are just three of the young stars that teams will be looking at in the coming weeks and months leading up to the 2017 draft. As it stands, three teams have the best shot of getting a pick in the top three, or even better, landing the top overall pick.

Boston, Phoenix & LA

As ESPN recently reported, the Boston Celtics have the best shot of getting a top three pick, or the number one overall selection.

For those who didn't know, Boston acquired the Brooklyn Nets' 2017 pick several seasons ago as part of a big trade. Due to the fact that the Nets are so bad this season, they have the worst overall record. This could bring another great new star to the Celtics as this team is already one capable of making the NBA Playoffs.

The Phoenix Suns are young and building for the future. They've got sharpshooter Devin Booker who recently put on a 70-point performance against the Celtics mentioned above. The Suns have the second-best chance at the No. 1 pick or at least a top three pick. If the team lands the No. 2 pick in the draft, they could be looking to take UCLA guard Lonzo Ball, crushing the dreams of LA Lakers' fans.

However, if Phoenix slides to No. 3, they'll likely be more than happy to add Jayhawks small forward Josh Jackson to the roster.

The Los Angeles Lakers have the third best chances at the No. 1 pick, but they have been on such a winning streak as of late, they could be hurting their chances of getting a pick in the top three at all.

If the Lakers find themselves below the three spot when the draft lottery rolls around in May, it means their pick goes back to the Philadelphia 76ers due to a deal between the two squads. The 76ers already have plenty of great young stars including Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, who have yet to play on the same court for an extended period.

So getting a top three pick in either Philly or LA would be a big deal for two struggling franchises.

The top three odds

As mentioned, Boston, Phoenix, and Los Angeles have the best shot at a top-three or the No. 1 pick. Right now, the Celtics have 64.4 percent chance at a top-three pick and a 25 percent chance at the No. 1 pick. The Suns have a 54.2 percent chance at a top-three pick and 19.1 percent chance of getting the top pick. For the Lakers, they have a 48.5 percent chance at a top-three pick, and a 16.4 percent chance at the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft.

Other teams who could sneak into the top three are the Orlando Magic (33.1 percent), Philadelphia 76ers (32.6 percent) and New York Knicks (20.5 percent).
