The first ODI did not go as planned for the home team and they lost wickets at regular intervals with no meaningful partnership between any players.

The visitors scored fast, and by the time five wickets were down they had already scored 324 runs.

The hosts have doled a humiliating 90 runs defeat by Bangladesh. The Lankans will be desperate to level the three-match ODI series 1-1.
