Caroline Wozniacki seems on the verge of doing some huge damage in 2017. Earlier today, she booked a spot in the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships final at the end of what was a raw display of high-quality tennis. Her opponent, Anastasija Sevastova from Latvia, another pleasant surprise of this Premier 5 event ended up accepting the defeat despite a good performance. For Wozniacki, the Middle East swing in Doha and now Dubai has been fruitful and there is space for more to come.

Wozniacki kept an elevated level

The encounter lasted for about 90 minutes, and was a replay of 2016 US Open quarterfinal.

Back in September, Sevastova accomplished her best result in a Grand Slam but due to an injury, she had no chance over the Dane. Now, the Latvian was also defeated but overall it was a much more spectacular match. Eventually, Caroline won in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 and she is set to play the 2nd WTA final in a week. By reaching the semis in Dubai, Anastasija Sevastova will reenter into the WTA top 30. For the Danish tennis star, the season of 2017 might be another glorious one. In the Dubai final, Caroline Wozniacki will pay against Elina Svitolina who delivered a huge upset, defeating Angelique Kerber.

Wozniacki struggled with injuries and poor form

Back in the summer of 2016, she dropped somewhere around 70th place in the WTA ranking.

It was a harsh period for such a great athlete. But then it came -- the 2016 Us Open where she did great by reaching the semis. Having earned a fair amount of ranking points (in the range of 700), in an instant, her perspectives changed.

At 26 years of age, her tennis is back on solid ground, and it's likely to see her back in the top 10 somewhere within the next month.

One of the biggest issues she had in the past was the lack of motivation on the tennis court. Now, that seems a story from another life, judging by how solid her tennis is once again.

If she wins the final in Dubai she will allow herself a time out, as she played extensively in the last couple of weeks.
