Saturday afternoon's college basketball action will include an SEC battle featuring Florida vs. Kentucky. The two teams are currently ranked amongst the top 15 squads in the nation and are looking to improve upon their current resumes. Both teams have beaten few ranked opponents, making today's matchup that much more meaningful. The latest Florida vs. Kentucky 2017 meeting will be live streaming online and televised for college basketball aficionados to consume as it unfolds, right before March Madness 2017 starts up.

No. 13 Gators (23-5, 13-2)

Florida comes into this game on a hot nine-game winning streak and having already defeated Kentucky once this season.

Not only was it a win, but it was a lopsided one at that, with the Gators routing the Wildcats by 22 points.

In the previous 88-66 win in Gainesville, a No. 24-ranked Florida team led 34-26 at the half and never looked back. They took the second half 54-40 to dominate then-No. 8 Kentucky. Guard Kasey Hill led the way with 21 points, six assists and five rebounds while forward Devin Robinson added 16 points, snatched nine boards and swatted away two shots. Guard Canyon Barry came off the bench with 14 points to aid in the victory.

They'll look for a repeat performance on Saturday which would give them an impressive season sweep. It would also give them better control of the SEC conference as the two teams each share 13-2 records heading into the game.

No. 11 Wildcats (23-5, 13-2)

John Calipari's latest Kentucky Wildcats team comes into this pivotal game having won five-straight and is 7-3 over their last 10. While one of those losses was the troubling double-digit defeat to Florida, the other was just a six-point loss against then-No. 2 Kansas. That shows this team still has the potential to hang with the top programs when the NCAA tournament rolls around.

In their most recent win, Kentucky took down Missouri 72-62 on the road. Bam Adebayo recorded 22 points and 15 rebounds for a stellar double-double in his freshman season. Kentucky also won the battle of the boards 44-31 against the Tigers, something they'll need to try to do better with in their latest meeting with Florida.

It's always possible these two teams could meet again for the SEC Tournament championship. As of right now, the Kentucky Wildcats are slotted as a No. 3 seed in the Midwest region by ESPN's Joe Lunardi. The Florida Gators are also projected as a No. 3 seed, but out in the East region. However, if either team steamrolls through the conference tournament and another high seed is upset along the way somewhere, things could change when the brackets hit bringing all that March Madness hype.
