The Los Angeles Clippers have started the season with a decent 28-14 record in the NBA Western Conference, which is currently good for fourth place. The fact that they are sitting in this position with all of the injuries that have ravaged the team is an impressive feat in itself. Starting guards Chris Paul and JJ Redick have both missed games due to hamstring issues, and power forward Blake Griffin is still out due to the surgical procedure he had done on his knee last month. That's three starters that have been in and out of the lineup, and yet the Clippers are still right in the hunt for a spot in the playoffs in the extremely difficult Western Conference.

Despite the great start, it is speculated that Los Angeles will try to make changes to its roster before the trade deadline in February. The player that is rumored to be on the move is All Star Blake Griffin.

Clippers to move All Star before deadline?

Blake Griffin is rumored to be on the trading block because he will be a free agent this summer, and the team is afraid that he could possibly walk away and they will get nothing in return. At least if they trade him now they can possibly get valuable assets that can help the team down the road. After watching Kevin Durant leave OKC for the Golden State Warriors, we all know that anything is possible, and the Clippers want to be prepared for "life after Blake."

There are several NBA teams interested in adding a tremendous talent like Blake Griffin to their rosters so he would have absolutely no shortage of suitors.

The Portland Trailblazers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Sacramento Kings are all teams that could use an upgrade at power forward to help them advance in the playoff standings. However the team that seems to be the most interested in Griffin at this point is the Boston Celtics.

Blockbuster trade between LA and Boston

The Boston Celtics have lots of draft picks and players on their roster that might seem very appealing to the Clippers.

Boston general manager Danny Ainge has already stated that if the opportunity presented itself to acquire another star player, then he will do what it takes to make them contenders. This, along with the fact that the Clippers don't want Blake Griffin leaving for nothing in free agency has the two teams in discussion to make a deal go through.

The proposed trade scenario between the Clippers and Celtics would send Jae Crowder, Kelly Olynk, Jonas Jerebko, and a future first round pick to LA in exchange for Blake Griffin. This potential deal would definitely benefit both teams. The Clippers would get valuable assets and be able to rebuild the franchise without having to start completely over, and the Celtics would get their other star player to pair with Al Horford and Isaiah Thomas. This trade would change the landscape of the NBA by immediately catapulting Boston into contention to possibly dethrone the Cleveland Cavaliers for the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
