It’s the end of the weekend, so it’s time to take a look at the Soccer Spanish Premier Division results from Week 2. It’s been a brilliant weekend for the biggest title contenders in Spain – FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid as they won their matches.

Barcelona played against Malaga at the Camp Nou on Saturday evening and they made it two wins from two as they beat visitors 1-0. The only goal in the game was scored by Belgian defender – Thomas Vermaelen. Barcelona maintained their perfect start of the new La Liga season. They kept two clean sheets in two games so far.

32-year old defender Thomas Vermaelen scored his first goal for the ‘Catalans’ in the 72nd minute of the game. He rebounded the ball after the flappy save from Malaga’s goalkeeper Carlos Kamieni and the Belgian scored it with his left foot. The biggest surprise was that the great three – Lionel Messi, Neymar JR and Luis Suarez couldn’t score a goal in their first game together in the new season.

Barcelona’s biggest rivals – Real Madrid cruised to a 5-0 victory over Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday evening. The ‘Galacticos’ earned their first league victory of the new 2015-16 season. Welsh international Gareth Bale opened score early in the game, then midfielder James Rodriguez added two stunning goals.

He also assisted on 4th goal of the day, when he passed to Karim Benzema. The final goal of the game was Gareth Bale’s great shot from outside the box.

In the biggest clash of the weekend, Atletico Madrid fired the first title warning of the new Premiera Division season. Diego Simeone’s side won against Sevilla 3-0 away from home on Sunday night.

Atletico scored their first goal only ten minutes before the half-time, when French attacker Antoine Griezmann passed the ball to Koke. The Spaniard netted his first goal of the new season. In the second half Atletico decided to defend the result and try their luck in the counterattacks. Just before the end of the game, Gabi and Jackson Martinez scored goals for the visitors and ‘Atleti’ crushed their rivals in 3-0 win.
