Rally the realm, winter is here! If you're a crazy "Game of Thrones" fan like me, you can't wait for season 8 to start. With the hit HBO series season 7 finale finishing in such an epic fashion, it is only obvious that fans would be craving for more. Unfortunately, we may have a long wait ahead for the highly-anticipated eighth season as filming delays threaten a 2019 release date. So it looks like Jon Snow and Daenerys will have a lot of cabin time to themselves and plenty of idle days on their hands. But is it worth waiting for the "Game of Thrones" final season?

According to star Jason Momoa, season 8 will be "the greatest thing ever aired."

Final season to be 'greatest thing ever aired'

If you're not sure who Jason Momoa is? Jason Momoa — played the Dothraki Warlord, Daenerys Targaryen's first husband, Khal Drogo, way back in season one. Momoa may have been killed off the show but apparently, he still visits his former castmates on location from time to time. Recently, while he was on set, the actor did an interview with Entertainment Weekly where he dished on some insiders secrets about the show's last season. Momoa told EW that he's a big fan of the show and didn't want to know how the final season was going to end. But after finding out, he said it's going to be unbelievable and the greatest thing that’s ever aired on TV.

As for the rumors about Drogo returning, the television and film star continued by saying that Drogo is dead and it would be impossible to bring him back.

Game of Thrones Season 8 "The Great War"

We can all agree that season 8 of GoT is going to be epic and we’re looking forward to all the twist and turns.

The only problem now is that die-hard fans will have to wait about a year, give or take before we finally get to find out where the “Game of Thrones” saga will end. Why? Due to filming delays! Sources for the show also said that the crew hasn't even started filming yet. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister said in an interview, “We go back in October, so maybe in the next few weeks, we’ll get the scripts and I’ll find out.

I’m very curious.” Also, showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss recently confirmed that the final season will feature just six episodes. Though it is likely that each episode will be a feature-length—anything from 60 mins to 120 minutes. So be prepared as the long night is coming soon.
