bethenny frankel shared a tribute to jill zarin's husband, Bobby, on Twitter after hearing that he had lost his battle with thyroid cancer. However, after first posting a couple of Bobby Zarin quotes to her fans and followers, the "Real Housewives of New York City" star shared an additional post that has led to tons of backlash for the longtime reality star -- who used to be a very close friend of Jill Zarin's.

In her January 14 post on Twitter, Bethenny Frankel told her online audience that she had just received an email from the first "Real Housewives" producer who discovered her in The Hamptons years ago.

She then said that the producer had informed her that it was actually Bobby Zarin who suggested Bravo TV add her to the cast of "The Real Housewives of New York City."

Bethenny Frankel is getting slammed for her supposedly selfish Twitter post

While Bethenny Frankel may simply have been sharing a fun fact about Jill Zarin's husband, many of her fans and followers took offense to the post and sent her several messages back, slamming her for making Bobby Zarin's passing all about her. Even her own fans were upset. "I'm a huge fan of yours, but I don't think this is the time to make it about you!" one woman wrote.

Another asked Bethenny Frankel why she was making the loss of Jill Zarin's partner all about her as another slammed the reality star for her "tacky comment." "Maybe include a Skinnygirl reference in your next shoutout," a third fan pressed.

Bethenny Frankel and Jill Zarin have had an up-and-down relationship

Bethenny Frankel and Jill Zarin had a good relationship during the first couple of seasons of "The Real Housewives of New York City," but eventually, the two women had a major falling out and have remained estranged for some time. While the ladies have hinted at a possible reconciliation on numerous occasions, they don't seem to be in contact at the moment, and their relationship will likely never be what it once was.

That said, Frankel did make an effort to let Zarin know she was thinking about her when she shared her posts online in honor of her late husband.

To see more of Bethenny Frankel and her co-stars, including Ramona Singer, Carole Radziwill, LuAnn de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Dorinda Medley, and Tinsley Mortimer, tune into new episodes of "The Real Housewives of New York City" when the show returns to Bravo TV for season 10 later this year. Jill Zarin is not expected to appear on the upcoming installment in any capacity.
