With the holiday season approaching, Ciara and Kelly Rowland spent their Friday morning with children from the Seattle Children’s Hospital. The Why Not You Foundation, Ciara's husband Russell Wilson's foundation, teamed up with Amazon to distribute their Kindles at the hospital. Ciara and Kelly Rowland cheered up the patients and families with joyful Christmas songs such as “Jingle Bells." They performed a holiday concert with Santa hats with their names on the front.

Sharing the holiday spirit

According to Seattle Children’s Hospital’s website, the Grammy winners had big surprises for the families in the playroom along with their holiday concert.

Amazon sent Amazon Fire HD 7s and Amazon Fire HD 8s for the families at the Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Ciara and husband Russell Wilson give support to Seattle’s Hospital

Ciara and her husband Russell Wilson visit Seattle’s Hospital regularly to help support Strong Against Cancer and the Why Not You Foundation. Strong Against Cancer is made up of donations from a community of supporters. They have donors and fundraisers to help end childhood cancer. Some of their sponsors are Capital One, Amazon, and iHeartMedia.

The Why Not You Foundation focuses on empowering change in the world through motivating and empowering the youth.

Russell Wilson founded the foundation in 2014 after following his father’s advice to approach life with a “why not you” mindset. Ciara assists by bringing her passion of helping young women become successful through education and empowerment programs.

Joy is in the air

Many of the patients and family members were surprised to see Ciara show up with Kelly Rowland, and it definitely lifted their spirits.

In the pictures posted on both of their social media accounts, the patients were ecstatic to hear Christmas carols from these singers.

As Christmas quickly approaches, it’s exciting and heartwarming to see these children happy and having a moment of pure bliss before having to head back to their old routine. This will be something the patients and their families will never forget.
