Just a few months have passed, and fans are already longing for the next season of “Game of Thrones” to come. For them, 2019 can’t come soon enough. “GoT” has been very successful in providing us a fresh take on TV shows. With all its twist and turns, its gore, fantasy and nudity, and its gripping storyline, it has become the most pirated series of all time. It even premiered simultaneously in 172 countries during its sixth season just to downplay the incidence of piracy.

But now that it’s in its final season, the showrunners are promising the most spectacular and unspoiled season yet, which is why it’ll take more than a year to finish the production.

If you’ve already re-watched the hit HBO series from the first season up to the seventh and still want more, here are some TV shows that can pass your time.

1. ‘Vikings’

You might have heard of this History Channel-produced series. "Vikings" contains the same amount of gore, battle scenes and backstabbing as “Game of Thrones,” though not much nudity as “GoT.” It features powerful men and women of their time. Although the series was created as accurately as History Channel can make it, it is very much as entertaining as fictional shows out there. It will make you even think that reality can indeed be as stunning and dangerous as we deem fiction to be!

2. ‘American Gods’

Those of you who are familiar with Neil Gaiman’s work will surely love this series.

This intense TV show produced by Amazon Prime is based on Neil Gaiman’s famous work of the same title. This series will try to shock you at every turn. If you miss the nudity that comes in “Game of Thrones,” you will love this one. Except that in “American Gods,” the other person in the sex party is likely to get swallowed –by a vagina.

If that doesn’t raise your eyebrows and get you interested, we don’t know what will.

3. ‘The Bastard Executioner’

Produced by Imagine Television, FX Productions, and Fox 21 Television Studios, this show was released last September 2015. Although 'The Bastard Executioner" was canceled just after one season because of poor ratings, this show definitely deserves to be placed in the top “to watch” shows, along with “Game of Thrones.” $10 million was spent on creating the two-hour premiere show and $2 million each for the following episodes.

The show is about a Welsh knight named Wlikn Brattle’s story of revenge. It is not based on a true story much like Vikings is, but it has a lot of battlefield action. If you enjoyed Ed Sheeran’s cameo in “GoT’s” Season 7, you will like him here, too.

4. ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’

If you like the “power women” of “GoT” such as Cersei, Arya, Sansa, and Brienne, you would surely appreciate this series streamed by Hulu. Based on a book by Margaret Atwood, the story of "The Handmaid's Tale" revolves around the oppression of women in a post-apocalyptic time. The show is actually said to be darker than the ‘Game of Thrones’ storyline, which is definitely something to look forward to.

5. ‘The Tudors’

If you like the politics, the treachery and the nudity of ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘The Tudors’ will not leave you wanting.

Set in the 16th century England, it focuses on the reign of Henry VIII. Although the show is based on real people, it is not historically accurate. There’s a lot of scheming and nudity in the series. And if you miss Queen Margaery Tyrell, you’ll be happy to find actress Natalie Dormer in "The Tudors" as Anne Boleyn.

But if after watching these shows and you still ache for “GoT,” then a rerun is in order. Or you can read the books in the meantime.
