#Wayward Pines” season 2 ended last year. The show has earned a lot of praise from the critics and the fans. Still, fans are waiting for the upcoming season to return. Unfortunately, the show-runners haven't provided any update so far regarding the official launch of the #season 3. However, the author of the book that the show is based on, Blake Crouch has hinted earlier that the season 3 of “Wayward Pines” might come.

When Crouch was asked regarding the next season in an interview, she pointed that “Wayward Pines” season 3 could be a possibility. Although, she is not sure regarding the official release. It is worth noting that the show is based on her novel.

If reports are to be believed, then FOX network entertainment is also ready to come up with “Wayward Pines” season 3. The TV show is based on Crouch's novels and it falls in the ‘Science-fiction’ category.

Story of 'Wayward Pines'

The story-line of the show is based on the lives of the people living in Wayward Pines (a town). The place is dubbed as mysterious by nature. “Wayward Pines” season 2, ended on a rather abrupt note. The final episode of season 2 witnessed Abbie’s family survived the show with the new-born baby. The fans have also seen that the few prominent characters went to their pods and going off to sleep. Overall the “Wayward Pines” season 2 ended on a very interesting plot which also hints regarding the season 3. The upcoming season will surely have news twists and turns as producers are working on a something new in the show.

Cast and characters update

The show has star cast with the likes of Nimrat Kaur, Djimon Hounsou, Kacey Rohl, Josh Helman, Shannyn Sossamon, Tom Stevens, Hope Davis, Toby Jones and Carla Gugino. It is still unknown whether all of the cast members will be available to return for season 3. If rumors are to be believed, the "Wayward Pines" season 3 might feature new faces. Also, it is expected that the fate of many characters will be decided in the show. On the other hand, FOX chairman Gary Newman hinted earlier in summer that a new season is not coming anytime soon. While the president of FOX Network earlier said that, "According to Deadline, Madden insisted, "We are exploring the story and casting ideas. We haven't made any decisions."
