Avengers: Infinity Wars” is yet to premiere. Although everybody is still waiting for the film to come out, Marvel is already getting ready for their Phase 4. To give us an idea of what we can expect in the future, James Gunn tweeted their plans about the superhero series.

A brand new story

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is getting ready for the future. As the studio starts to bring an end to Phase 3 with “Avengers 4” and “Infinity Wars,” the studio will also have to bid farewell to some of their heroes. With superheroes confirmed to die in the two films, how will Marvel replace them in the future?

So far, Marvel has been quiet about a lot of details regarding their Phase 4. After all, “Infinity Wars” and “Avengers 4” has yet to be released. However, in a recent Twitter post, Marvel’s James Gunn shared some of their plans for the next series of films. In Twitter, when asked about the MCU’s future and Kevin Feige’s statements regarding their future movies, the “Guardian of the Galaxy” director said that fans could expect a brand new start for the cinematic universe. In fact, Phase 4 will start with his very own film, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”

It’s not the first time that the director talked about the movie. Gunn previously shared about “Vol.3’s” significance to the future of MCU in August, where he shared the same information.

Back then, he said that not only will the “Guardians of the Galaxy” open Phase 4, but they will also set the narrative of the next 10 to 20 years worth of films for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Seeing that it has already been confirmed twice, we can now say that the MCU’s next Phase will mostly center outside Earth as the “Guardians” is largely set up in space.

Phase 4

Based on Gunn’s tweet, and Kevin Feige’s previous comments about the future of the studio, it’s safe to say that fans should not worry about the future of the superheroes. Although we still don’t know much about Phase 4, we are now sure that it’s mostly going revolve around space. If Marvel will stick to what Gunn said, the next set of movies is most likely to welcome a cosmic era to the franchise.

Besides these, we can also anticipate the coming of other superheroes like Spiderman, Captain Marvel, and the Black Panther to center stage.

Even though there are a lot of speculations surrounding Marvel’s future, we still don’t know what kind of films are we going to see in Phase 4. MCU’s fans should wait for more news about their favorite superheroes.
