John Stamos feels like he is the luckiest man on earth after his girlfriend, Caitlin McHugh, said yes to his proposal. The "Fuller House" actor personally shared the good news with his Instagram followers on Sunday. "I asked...she said yes! ...And we lived happily ever after," he captioned a photo of a couple.

On Tuesday, the 54-year-old actor and his fiance made their first public appearance since they got engaged. When asked how he was feeling after the success of his proposal, John Stamos admitted that it felt like he was still floating since he heard her say yes to him.

Newly-engaged couple makes first public appearance since engagement announcement

"I’m on cloud nine," he told Entertainment Tonight. "I’ve been waiting for the perfect girl for over a decade, and she walked into my life."

Caitlin McHugh, on the other hand, showed off her engagement ring when she and John Stamos shared an intimate kiss on the red carpet. Meanwhile, the "Scream Queens" alum hinted at his budding romance with the actress during a performance with the Beach Boys in 2016.

It was not long until it was revealed that John Stamos was dating Caitlin McHugh. A source told PEOPLE that the couple has a lot in common and that the actress was a "really sweet person." Since then, the two have made no effort to hide their relationship from the public.

In fact, the pair even collaborates to co-write and producer "Inguene-ish," a short film that starred Josh Peck. “It’s actually about being an actor in L.A. — it’s kind of a roast of myself, the whole thing,” Caitlin McHugh said of the project. “[Stamos] directed it, I’m in it.

We wrote it together, and we had a lot of fun doing it.”

John and Caitlin expected to keep wedding private

The actress added she is happy that the two of them were able to survive the filming process without any trouble. She also thanked her then-boyfriend for being her number one supporter and for encouraging her to pursue what she wants.

Caitlin McHugh did find herself not only a supportive partner but also a romantic fiance who did not fail to make her heart flutter during the proposal. A representative told the publication that the "Born to Ride" actor prepared a compilation of romantic scenes from Disney and Pixar movies.

The short film was played before John Stamos got down on one knee and asked Caitlin McHugh if she would marry him. Although the couple has made their engagement public, the two are not expected to spill the details of their upcoming wedding to keep the special moment private.
