The final season of "Game of Thrones" could find several major players killed off in the fight against the White Walkers. However, there is one character who may have survived the fall of The Wall in the previous season finale. Tormund Giantsbane is expected to return in "Game of Thrones" Season 8 where he could finally reunite with his beloved Brienne Of Tarth.

In the episode "The Dragon and The Wolf," Tormund and Beric Dondarrion witnessed the resurrected Viserion bring down part of The Wall. Unfortunately, it also resulted in the destruction of their post in Eastwatch and the possible demise of the two.

Luckily, it looks like Tormund will be back in "Game of Thrones" Season 8.

Kristofer Hivju heads for Ireland

A lucky fan has spotted the "Fate of the Furious" star at the Belfast airport with "Game of Thrones" co-star Ben Crompton. The idea of Kristofer Hivju heading to Ireland to film for the final season has led to speculations that Tormund is alive and well. Hopefully, this could mean the former wildling leader will be reunited with Brienne of Tarth.

There are speculations that Tormund Giantsbane will escape the ruins of Eastwatch and flee to Castle Black. From there, he could be taken to Winterfell to report to Jon Snow.

By then, Brienne would already be in the North to continue watching over Sansa Stark. Fans are hoping Tormund will finally make his move on his beloved before the HBO show ends. But how exactly did the wildling manage to survive the fall of The Wall?

Beric Dondarrion and his last life

Tormund was not the only one in trouble in the previous season finale.

Beric Dondarrion was with him when their fort collapsed in the episode "The Dragon and The Wolf." There is a possibility that the two will end up in a dangerous situation where only one of them can survive. Beric might choose to allow Tormund to live so he can warn the King in the North about what has happened in Eastwatch and prepared for the White Walkers.

This will be a major sacrifice for Beric Dondarrion since he is down to his final life. After all, Thoros of Myr is already dead, which means nobody will be able to resurrect the Lightning Lord if he dies one more time. If the speculations are true, it would certainly be a fitting end for Beric in "Game of Thrones" Season 8.

The cast and crew of "Game of Thrones" are currently working on the final season. Production is expected to continue until next summer. The final season will then premiere on HBO in early 2019.
