Ed Sheeran has canceled some of his concert performances in Asia after suffering a cycling accident, The Jakarta Post reported. However, the singer will push through with his other concert shows before the end of this year.

The “Shape of You” singer has canceled his upcoming shows in Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Indonesia. He was supposed to perform at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Hall in Taiwan on October 22, his official website stated.

He also canceled his shows at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition in Jakarta on November 9. No shows will be held at The 88 Garden in Seoul and at AsiaWorld-Expo Arena in Hong Kong either.

According to the announcement on his official website, the singer was “forced to cancel” the scheduled shows “due to scheduling conflicts and limited venue availability.”

Sheeran uploaded a video on his Facebook account and apologized to his avid supporters. He hopes that “everyone understands this” and that his team is working hard “to come back” to the concert scene.

Injury

Ed Sheeran suffered a bicycle accident in London which fractured his left elbow and right wrist, Rolling Stone reported. Photos of his injured arm were posted on Instagram and noted that the singer is currently recovering from the accident.

He also revealed that he is “waiting on some medical advice” before releasing comments on his upcoming tour schedules.

His fans also expressed their disappointment after the recent announcements.

Book My Show, the tour’s official ticketing partner has announced that fans who already bought their tickets will get a refund by November 3. However, some of his shows have been rescheduled.

Upcoming shows

His concert event at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds in Manila, Philippines will be rescheduled for April 2018.

It was supposed to be held on November 7.

The other shows that were postponed to April 2018 include those happening at Osaka-Jo Hall and at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan. These events were supposed to be held during the last week of October and the first week of November.

Nevertheless, Ed Sheeran is expected to push through with his concert performance in Singapore on November 11.

He will also perform in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, Bangkok in Thailand, Mumbai in India and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates according to the original schedule.

One of his fans in Malaysia told The Star Online that she would be sad if he cancels his show in the Southeast Asian country. She added that she is happy the singer is recovering from the injury.
