According to TVLine, Greg Rikaart is joining rival soap “Days Of Our Lives.” The show has confirmed the upcoming storyline arc, which is said to be a multi-episode gig. However, “DOOL” isn't detailing any spoilers regarding who the “young and restless” star will play.
“Young and Restless” fans know that Rikaart was stunned by the show's decision to let him go. He shared on social media that he was sad to leave a place so dear to him, but he added that he was excited about what the future held. Greg will reportedly start airing in his “Days of Our Lives” gig in the spring of 2018, but at this point, nobody knows who he will play or how he'll be connected to others in Salem.

Does this mean that Kevin Fisher is gone for good from Genoa City? Apparently, Rikaart's “DOOL” gig will not necessarily keep him away from “Y&R.” Kevin may still pop up here and there in future episodes, but seemingly on only a recurring basis.
Rikaart retweeted a couple of links to stories detailing the big “Days of Our Lives” news, but he isn't saying a word about who he will play. So far, soap fans seem intrigued and excited to see where this heads and Greg's fans are hopeful that he'll be sticking around Salem for much more than a few episodes.
Greg isn't the only soap vet 'Days' snatched up
The soap also snatched up former “General Hospital” star Tyler Christopher for a mystery role. While it will take a few months to see both men on-screen, “DOOL” fans are anxious for spoilers regarding these characters. Christopher is already taping his scenes and while a specific air date has not been revealed, it is believed he will start appearing late this year or in early 2018.
