By now, it seems to be common knowledge that any movie coming from the Marvel Cinematic Universe is guaranteed to have a certain degree of excellence. With a blissfully colorful and comedic new take on the Avengers’ favorite demigod in the soon-to-arrive “Thor: Ragnarok” and the creepy first look at the seminal first film of a brand new horror trilogy with the teaser trailer for “The New Mutants,” Marvel obviously has an endless supply of imaginative ways to dazzle its massive and loyal audience. In a way, fans have come to expect being astounded and amazed by the trailers for the MCU movies, getting a happy and satisfying taste of things to come to hold them over until the film hits theaters.

But the new trailer for the 2018 Valentine’s weekend picture “Black Panther” hasn’t satiated audiences, but rather has made them ravenous.

The 'Black Panther' Trailer the World Has Been Waiting for

A swath of lucky men and women got a chance to see a trailer for MCU’s “Black Panther” during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, a trailer so incredible that it elicited a standing ovation filled with cheers and tears of joy from cast, crew, and viewers; no one else in the world ever got the chance to see that trailer… until now. While the first full length trailer gave people a look at the technologically advanced Wakanda, Michael B. Jordan’s villain, and the immortally awesome Vibranium catsuit of the titular prince-turned-king, this new trailer brings viewers a more in depth look at all of the above and more.

A Better Look at T’Challa’s Journey

As the world has known for some time about the film’s cast of characters, a basic idea of the “Black Panther” story (for those who aren’t familiar with the source material) has been around for a while, but this new full length trailer certainly has provided a more substantial view at what viewers can expect.

Along with the beautifully rendered visualizations of the hands-free aircrafts, glorious skyscrapers, and hover trains of the fictitious African country ruled by the eponymous hero, we now know that Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa is at odds with the would-be usurper Erik Killmonger who has taken up with established MCU bad guy Ulysses Klaw (Andy Serkis) to overthrow order in Wakanda.

More definitive looks at Lupita N’yongo’s Nakia and Danai Gurira’s Okoye are given as well as new shots of Angela Bassett as T’Challa’s mother Ramonda, but the real draw is the teases of the showdowns with the antagonists.

Not only do we get to see Klaue’s Sonic Disruptor, the new sound blasting weapon that replaces the arm ripped off by Ultron, but we also get a peak at what is probably the climactic moment of the film, not to mention a bastion of Marvel storylines: a doppelganger fight. An eloquent metaphor for conquering the worst parts of one’s self and becoming a better person, Black Panther’s fight with Killmonger’s Golden Jaguar, whose visage appears in fantastic fashion at the end of the trailer, is as momentous as it is maddening – something epic is going to happen and you have to wait until February 16th, 2018 to see it.
