Many fans are now excited for the upcoming premiere of “The Blacklist” Season 5. All eyes are now set on Liz Keen (Megan Boone) and Red Reddington (James Spader) after it was revealed in the fourth season that they are related.

Liz previously discovered that Red is her biological father after she got back the test results that confirmed her speculations. Spoilers suggest that Liz will have a major struggle in the upcoming installment because the realization will not sit well with her.

Liz’s life-changing moment

Liz Keen was totally caught off guard when she found out that the highly dangerous criminal she has been working with is actually her biological father.

The FBI agent has gotten into some wild situations in the past, but learning that she is related to Red Reddington is something that she never saw coming.

“Liz is terrified of becoming Red. She knows this is in her DNA -- dark, violent tendencies,” creator Jon Bokenkamp said about Liz’s struggle in the forthcoming new installment. “When we start Season 5, Liz really plants her flag in the idea that she's a cop -- a good cop. And she stands by that,” “The Blacklist” Season 5 exec went on.

Most viewers can recall how Red Reddington helped Liz Keen get her job back at the FBI after he managed to get a Presidential pardon for her. However, Jon Bokenkamp also revealed to TV Line that Red will also have his own struggles in “The Blacklist” Season 5.

The creator revealed that Red is broke after losing everything to save Liz. “Now it's time to rebuild, and that is going to be a total blast,” Bokenkamp said.

Liz and Tom Keen reunion

Meanwhile, devoted followers of the NBC series are also excited for the upcoming reunion of Tom (Ryan Eggold) and Liz Keen in “The Blacklist” Season 5.

The teaser photos obtained by Entertainment Weekly showed the couple holding each other’s hands after they were separated for a while.

Tom went in search of his family last season. He returned in the Season 4 finale when he recovered the suitcase that could possibly be owned by Red Reddington.

“Tom has no idea what he’s walking into, and, in some ways, it’ll feel like the dynamic he had with Liz in season 1," Jon Bokenkamp told Entertainment Weekly.

"The suitcase is important, but he doesn’t know where that mystery will lead him — and he’s definitely conscious of the fact that answers tend to come with consequences,” he went on.

The Blacklist” Season 5 is scheduled to return on September 27, 2017, on NBC Channel at 8 p.m. Stay tuned for more spoilers, news, and updates!
