Fall TV is just around the corner and with it comes the return of several comedy favorites, including NBC's "Superstore," The CW's "Jane the Virgin," and FOX's "Brooklyn Nine-Nine." But ahead of their respective premieres, America Ferrera and the rest of the crew of "Superstore" have come together to support Hurricane Harvey victims by donating to the Houston Food Bank. Using the hashtag "#crewsgiveafund," Ferrera and the rest of the cast and crew of "Superstore" have already raised $15,650 for the Houston Food Bank to help victims of Hurricane Harvey put their lives back together.

The cast took to Ferrera's Twitter and Instagram accounts to share an update and challenge other comedy shows to support the cause and donate as well.

Ben Feldman and crew challenge other comedy shows

"Attention, Hollywood!" Ben Feldman said in a video posted by "Superstore" star America Ferrera. He then proceeded to share that on the second day of "crewsgiveafund," they have collectively raised $15,650 for the Houston Food Bank. Colton Dunn chimed in, "We're challenging other shows with their crews to put some money together to help people affected by the hurricane." They challenged FOX's "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," NBC's "Great News," The CW's "Jane the Virgin," and Hulu's "The Mindy Project" to follow their lead and help raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Comedy shows resume in September

Both "Superstore" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" are returning with season 2 and season 5 respectively this September. "Jane the Virgin" is also set to return for a fourth season this October. It's unsurprising that the cast and crew are friends with each other, given that America Ferrera and "Jane the Virgin's" Gina Rodriguez are close friends.

Given the Latina community in Hollywood, it would come as no surprise that the two also know "Brooklyn Nine-Nine"'s Melissa Fumero, who plays Amy, Andy Samberg's on-screen love interest. Ferrera recently posted a photo of herself with Rodriguez, with whom she admitted to often being mistaken for.

Series to resolve season finale cliffhangers

It's only fitting that "Superstore" would actively involve themselves in raising funds for Hurricane Harvey victims. In the second season finale, a hurricane tore down Cloud 9 and when the show returns this month, viewers will get to see its grand reopening. As for "Jane the Virgin" season 4, viewers will get to know more about Tyler Posey's Adam, who is Jane's first love whom she already came across during last season's finale. In "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," Detective Jake Peralta will have to find a way to clear his name after he and Rosa Diaz were framed for a crime they didn't commit. "Superstore" season 3 premieres on September 28, while "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 5 arrives on September 26. "Jane the Virgin" season 4 will air on October 13.
