This weekend brought about the upsetting Emmy Awards results, with Netflix's "Stranger Things" going home empty-handed despite its nominations for David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Shannon Purser, and the Duffer Brothers. While fans took to Twitter to share their frustrations, the series is going ahead with its highly anticipated sophomore season this October. In fact, the Duffer Brothers have hinted at what's to come when "Stranger Things" season 2 premieres next month, bringing fan favorite Eleven (Brown) back from the Upside Down. During the red carpet event before the Emmys, TVLine spoke with the Duffer Brothers, who hinted at how Eleven has changed since the first season in July 2016.

Eleven has more words in her vocabulary

In "Stranger Things" season 2, viewers will get to meet a new Eleven, who has spent roughly a year in the Upside Down after defeating the Demogorgon, that will come back with even more lines, and even more hair. Matt Duffer told TVLine that when Eleven finally reunites with Mike and the rest of the AV Club, "She has hair" and "she can complete sentences." This is something that would be interesting to see, given that Millie Bobby Brown said only 246 words in the first season, according to BBC. In the upcoming season, viewers are looking forward to finding out more about Eleven's back story and how she came to be, and her connection to the Hawkins Laboratory.

Character to go through an 'emotional rollercoaster'

The Duffer Brothers also hinted at Eleven's return to Hawkins in "Stranger Things" season 2. They said that they were so impressed with Millie Bobby Brown's talents in the previous season that they wanted to "put her on an emotion roller coaster this year." It was previously reported that the sophomore season will delve more into Eleven's back story and the stories of the other characters, as well.

For one, David Harbour's Chief Jim Hopper will have to deal with life after saving the day back in season 1, which means that there will be some repercussions to his actions.

The sophomore season will also see the arrival of a new girl in town in the form of Sadie Sink's Max, who will become a new member of the AV Club. In fact, she'll charm most of the boys in the group, except for Mike, who's still hung up on the disappearance of Eleven. "Stranger Things" season 2 is set to premiere on Netflix on October 27 and will bring Winona Ryder, David Harbour, and Millie Bobby Brown back to reprise their roles.
