First, it was “Friends” actor David Schwimmer and Zoe Buckham, then it was Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor and now it’s Fergie and Josh Duhamel. It seems 2017 is yet another rough year for celebrity marriages as Fergie and husband of eight years, Josh Duhamel have announced that they have separated. They issued an exclusive joint statement which was released by People magazine on Thursday, 15 September. The couple shares a 4-year-old son together.
‘We are and will always be united’
In the statement, the couple says that they decided to part their ways earlier this year.
They then go on to say that their break-up was not shared with the public because they wanted to give some time for their family to adjust. The couple also writes that they will continue to support each other and their family.
Fergie and Duhamel celebrated their eighth anniversary in January. Duhamel shared a photo Fergie and their son with the caption "8 years!! Love you babe."

According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly, the couple has been having marriage troubles for a while. The source also said that “Transformers” actor Duhamel and “Big Girls Don’t Cry” singer Fergie haven’t been living together since early spring.
RadarOnline reports that Fergie’s mother is “stunned” by her daughter’s divorce while Duhamel’s father said that he is very close to Fergie.
On Wednesday, Fergie, 42, was photographed by paparazzi in Los Angeles International Airport from where she departed on a flight to Brazil, while Duhamel, 44, was spotted in Los Angeles leaving Early World Café with his son Axl.
The singer released her new single “You Already Know” featuring Nicki Minaj on Tuesday.
Their love story
The couple, who has been together for 13 years, met on the set of Duhamel’s show “Las Vegas” in which Fergie made a cameo with her band The Black Eyed Peas (from which she has taken a break). They became engaged in December 2007 and got married on January 2009 in a lavish Roman Catholic ceremony held at Church Estate Vineyards in Malibu, California.
Three years later, they welcomed their son Axl in August 2013.
In 2012, Fergie opened up to Oprah about how her marriage was shaken after Duhamel was accused of sleeping with an Atlanta stripper - an allegation which was denied by the couple.
Fergie is currently promoting her new album “Double Dutchess” which is scheduled to be released on September 22. Duhamel concluded filming of his new film, “Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda” starring Jennifer Garner, in April.
