According to TV Line, the CW has announced that they are going to create a one-hour long spin-off titled "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina." It was feasible that Sabrina could feature in the Netflix series "Riverdale," because the character of Sabrina arrives in the "Riverdale" world in the comic series titled "Archie Comics."
In a report by Digital Spy, it has been confirmed that the series will revolve around the character of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, as she tries to reconcile her witch side and her mortal side.
The series will be a darker reboot of the original franchise and will be dealing with such themes as the occult, witchcraft, and horror.
The executive producer of the Netflix show “Riverdale,” Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, announced that he will be writing the script for the spin-off. It has also been confirmed that Lee Toland Krieger will be directing the hour-long special.
There is a possibility that Sabrina could arrive in 'Riverdale'
According to the A.V Club, the hour-long special, "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina," will take place in the town known as Greendale, which is a neighboring town of Riverdale. While it has not been confirmed that Sabrina will be making her way over to the Riverdale, it is highly likely that this will happen.
At the 2017 San Diego Comic Convention, "Riverdale's" executive producer, Aguirre-Sacasa, said that the "Riverdale" producers were working on a character. Fans are convinced that he was referring to Sabrina and the recent information released about the spin-off has raised suspicions that the witch will make an appearance in "Riverdale."
According to TV Line, "Riverdale" actor Cole Sprouse has stated that the production team knows what they are doing.
The actor did not reveal anything further, other than that there will certainly be some surprises in the second season of the show.
The spin-off "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" will be released sometime between 2018-2019. Fans are delighted at the news of the hour-long special about one of the most iconic supernatural characters.
