Kyle Richards may be a reality TV queen, but her real-life trials and tribulations are enough to inspire not one, but two, upcoming scripted television shows. According to Variety, Kyle Richards’ life story is the inspiration behind the new series “Glass Houses.” The series, which is still in its early stages of development, will follow the struggling Anisa Shattenkirk-Glass as she launches her own company to challenge her former employer and mother-in-law for control of the lucrative real estate market in Los Angeles. Richards will executive produce the pilot of the potential new series, which will presumably be shopped to networks.

Kyle Richards has an inside connection to the Beverly Hills real estate business. Kyle is married to Mauricio Umansky, owner of The Agency and one of the hottest real estate agents in the area. In addition, her brother-in-law Rick Hilton is the co-founder of the famous real estate firm, Hilton & Hyland.

A Real Housewife and an American Woman

Of course, the tentatively titled “Glass Houses” isn’t the only upcoming Kyle Richards-inspired TV drama. According to Bravo.com, the previously announced “American Woman” is set to premiere on Spike TV next year. Alicia Silverstone will play a single mom modeled after Richards’ late mother, Kathleen. The show will be set in the 1970s and will follow Bonnie as she raises her two daughters on her own.

Kyle Richards’ mom, Kathleen Dugan, was a notorious stage mom back in the 1970s as she raised her child actor daughters Kim, Kyle, and Kathy as a single mom. Kyle Richards also serves as an executive producer on “American Woman.”

Kyle’s acting credits date back to the ‘70s

While Kyle Richards has switched from acting to reality TV in recent years, she has an impressive list of acting credits dating back to her childhood.

The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star has appeared in a long list of movie and television projects, including a recurring role on “Little House on the Prairie” in the 1970s. One of Richards' most memorable acting credits came in the original “Halloween” movie back in 1978. Like her older sister and fellow “RHOBH” star Kim Richards, Kyle appeared on shows like “Fantasy Island” and “Love Boat,” and later went on to a recurring role as Nurse Dori Kerns on the medical drama “ER.”

Kyle Richards is set to appear in the upcoming eighth season of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” which will debut later this year on Bravo.
