The “Game of Thrones” season 7 finale ended with the Night King (Vladimir Furdik) controlling his now ice dragon and his army of the dead in an attempt to pass through The Wall. During episode 6, the King of the Dead threw a spear at Daenerys Targaryen’s (Emilia Clarke) dragon Viserion that led to his death but eventually revived as one of the White Walkers. The dragon, with the Night King riding him, managed to destroy one barrier in The Wall and fans were quick to speculate what happens next. The mother of dragons and Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) were able to convince (but not really) Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) to fight with them to defeat the White Walkers.

The Night King’s plan

Over on Reddit, fans share their own theories about “Game of Thrones” pertaining to the King of the Dead’s plan to destroy mankind. According to one Redditor, the Night King now has Viserion and can fly anywhere he wants, which means it would be easy for him to destroy all of Westeros. The dragon is now more powerful in the hands of the Night King, and since he can raise the dead, all those corpses in the mass graves throughout Westeros will likely come to life as White Walkers. Some folks believe that the battle will be in the North, but fans suggest otherwise, especially when the Night King decides to travel throughout the whole continent.

Sensible theories

One “Game of Thrones” fan also said that the fight against the White Walkers will go terribly wrong, and everyone should expect Westeros to be overrun by the zombies.

Another Reddit user said that Cersei Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, or even Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk) are all wrong in their belief about the wrath the White Walkers will bring to Westeros. Apparently, these theories make a lot of sense given the fact that the Night King now has Viserion, the ice dragon.

Harrington warns of bloodbath

Kit Harrington recently sat down with Deadline to discuss “Game of Thrones” and what everyone can expect in the upcoming installment with only six episodes. The actor teased that we should be prepared for most of the major characters to get killed quickly in season 8. He also said that since most of the main characters did not face devastation this season, the upcoming season will be a bloodbath.

Yes, it’s going to be a scene of carnage.

“Game of Thrones” season 8 will only have a total of six episodes. It is expected to premiere in 2018, but producers previously said that it might also take them until 2019 to wrap everything up. Production is set to kick off in October 2017.
