German musician Zedd, best known in the EDM genre, revealed in his interview with Billboard that his relationship with Selena Gomez was something he was not able to prepare for. He detailed about what it was like to date a very famous individual and his Family And Friends also were affected by it.
Twenty-seven-year-old Zedd and the 24-year-old “Hands to Myself” singer dated briefly in 2015 after Gomez broke-up with “Sorry” singer Justin Bieber. They also produced a new song titled “I Want You To Know” while they were dating but their relationship was short-lived.
Zedd talks about how it was to date Gomez
Zedd, born Anton Zaslavski, said in his interview with Billboard magazine, that he knew dating Gomez would be different from the women he dated before. He revealed that the relationship did not just affect him but the people around him because the paparazzi and Gomez’s fans talked to his family and friends in an attempt to get any information about his relationship with the “13 Reasons Why” co-producer.
The German musician said reporters even called his parents and some people hacked his friends’ phones. This took a toll on him although he knew that there was a possibility of gaining such attention since he and Gomez stepped out as a couple. He said that he knew Gomez was one of the most talked about people in the world but he never anticipated that being with her romantically would change his life so much, Refinery 29 reported.
Zedd noted that he does not regret being romantically linked to Gomez as it was the only time he saw real fame. He pointed out that he did not know what being famous was until Gomez came into his life.
Zedd wants media to focus on his work
Hollywood Life reported that Zedd did not want the media to know more about his private life as he did not answer Billboard whether he has a girlfriend now.
He said that people should just focus on his work and his music such as his collaboration with singer Kesha.
He also worked on a project with the American Civil Liberties Union. The project is called Welcome, a fundraising concert to support equal rights all over the United States. The concert took place in April.
Zedd also comments on Trump
The songwriter and record producer said that he does not like President Donald Trump. He revealed that the scandal and insane tweets from the president just keep coming and some people feel powerless that is why he believes being under his administration is terrible. He revealed that his fellow EDM stars do not want to use their voice against Trump because they are scared. Zedd believes otherwise and that is why he talked against the president in his Billboard interview.
