Just when everyone thought that the story of The Vampire Diaries” would end at the conclusion of “The Originals” Season 5, there will be a new spinoff series coming. Fans now have reason to celebrate as The CW President Mark Pedowitz hinted at the possibility of a new television show inspired by “TVD.” The 67-year-old network chief talked about the possibilities at the recent 2017 Summer TCA Press Tour.

The start of a new spinoff

"Julie [Plec] and I and the studio have had many a discussion,” Mark Pedowitz said about the new “The Vampire Diaries” spinoff series (via E!

News).

However, he admitted that nothing has come out of their discussion yet. He then revealed that the 45-year-old writer-producer wants to get done with “The Originals” Season 5 first before she will do anything else again. With that, he is still hopeful that she still wants to do another series. “That's really up to Julie at this point," he confessed.

As there are swirling rumors that the new spinoff series will focus solely on Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley's (Phoebe Tonkin) only daughter, Hope, the director was asked if there is a possibility about this. He revealed that there are a lot of conversations about her character, but it is still too early to tell and to decide about it. “I want Julie to deal with this final season," he added.

Hope is now a grown-up lady who will be played by 17-year-old Danielle Rose Russell.

The ‘TVD’ and spinoff series’ crossover

Just like real vampires, it looks like “The Vampire Diaries” story will live forever. In fact, although the television show already ended with eight seasons last March, it will once again exist in the coming “The Originals” Season 5 crossover.

Candice King will be seen in the spinoff series reprising her character as the original “TVD” cast member Caroline Forbes, TV Line reported. Details about her appearance remain scarce, but it is known that she will be handling The Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted as the headmistress.

To recall, Candice intentionally built this school to enhance the supernatural kids’ power after Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) died by sacrificing himself at the end of “TVD.” As “The Originals” Season 5 will feature a time jump, Hope will be now a grown-up young lady and will be attending the educational institution.

From here, there is a big possibility that Klaus and Caroline will meet again and this might rekindle the feelings they once had for each other.
