“The Originals” Season 5 will be the swan song of “The Vampire Diaries” spin-off series, it was earlier revealed that The Original cast Nina Dobrev would be doing a crossover. However, it looks like this much-awaited event will never happen.

The 28-year-old star talked about her alleged appearance in the television series’ final bow and confirmed the truth behind it. From the looks of it, the show’s last stretch will definitely be sad without seeing Elena Gilbert and an assumed death of another major character.

A huge spoiler

It has been suggested that “The Originals” Season 5 will end with a big bang.

In fact, it is now confirmed that Candice King will do the crossover and will be seen as her “The Vampire Diaries” character Caroline Forbes.

To recall, in the spin-off series’ previous season finale, the Mikaelson family needed to be separated because of a curse. So in an effort to protect Hope (Summer Fontana), they have to be apart.

As the show is going to return with a 10-year time jump, Hope will be now seen as a grown-up lady and will be portrayed by Danielle Rose Russell. She is now studying at Salvatore Boarding School, where Caroline plays as the headmistress. Therefore, there will be a big chance that she will meet her father, Klaus (Joseph Morgan).

Additionally, there might be a major character lost in the show’s coming new installment.

According to reports, one of its producers tweeted a teaser photo of the series’ storyboard, including a storyline that revealed Keelin (Christina Moses) is pregnant with Freya’s (Riley Voelkel) baby. As this might make fans happy, another spoiler sent them into a frenzy when a cut-off sentence unveiled Hayley’s (Phoebe Tonkin) death.

But, this tweet was deleted promptly.

Dobrev’s postponed disappearance

Meanwhile, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Nina Dobrev talked about her alleged appearance in “The Originals” Season 5.

A lot of fans have been hoping to see the much-awaited “The Vampire Diaries” crossover of Elena Gilbert, but it seems like it will never happen. “No, I will not be in ‘The Originals,’ no,” the former girlfriend of Ian Somerhalder told EW.

Nina Dobrev explained that she has other projects to do. As they just finished “TVD” Season 8 a few months ago, she said that she doubts if it “would be on the books” for her. “I’ve been so busy with all kinds of other things going on right now,” she said. She is not sure if she can do a guest appearance in the show’s final bow. She even insisted that she is not “young twenty-something” anymore. So, she doesn’t think that she could still play as a young-looking, immortal vampire. “I’m getting old,” she admitted.
