Lindsay, who is the first African-American host of the dating program, was left with three gentlemen when the final episode opened on Monday. Eric Bigger was the first to be eliminated, leaving Bryan Abasolo and Peter Kraus in the competition. After much thought and careful consideration, the 32-year-old attorney picked Abasolo to spend the rest of her life with.

During their interview for the "After the Final Rose" special, the new couple could not stop themselves from gushing about each other. They even opened up about their plan of moving in together, but admitted that they are still unsure where to reside.

The couple is also elated that they can finally publicize their relationship after several months of keeping it under wraps while the show was airing. "We just want to grab coffee and go to the movies," Lindsay mused, while Abasolo said, "I want to show this woman off."

Despite their plan of living under the same roof, the engaged couple said that they are in no rush to get married anytime soon. In fact, the couple confessed that they are still in the early stages of planning for the big day.

"We just want to build our lives together in a normal sense," Lindsay added.

Life after 'The Bachelorette' journey

Abasolo, on the other hand, took to his Instagram account to profess his love for his fiance. In a couple of posts on Tuesday, the 37-year-old doctor recalled the day he asked for Lindsay's hand and thought that it was the "greatest moment" of his life.

"I was optimistic about what could be prior to stepping out of that limo but never in my wildest dreams could I had foreseen us building such a strong foundation and deep bond in the last 6 months," he wrote. "Every single day literally gets better and better with you and reaffirms that God placed you in my path for a reason."

"The Bachelorette" winner went on to say that it was their love for each other that helped them went through all the ups and downs in their relationship.

"I can't wait to start our new life together full of fun and adventure! I am so blessed and lucky to have you and I promise to cherish you forever! I love you baby," he captioned a photo of his proposal.

Abasolo also shared a photo of him and Lindsay kissing inside a plane and wrote, "On cloud 9 #NY #CT #DAL #MIA."
