Sonja Morgan dropped a bomb on the previous season of "The Real Housewives of New York." While Luann D'Agostino was head over heels in love with Tom D'Agostino, Sonja was shocked because she had spent time with him. She kept calling him "her Tom" and fans assumed that there was something between them. As it turns out, Morgan had slept with Tom several times throughout several years and she called him her friend with benefits. Sonja made it seem like it was once a month, but it was just a handful of times over 10 years.
Of course, Morgan knew that he wasn't the kind of man she wanted to marry, but she was still surprised that Luann would date a man she had something with for years.
Things didn't work out and many expect that his cheating was enough to drive them apart. Surely, Sonja could have told Luann that she had warned her about him, but she has some sweet words for her co-star.
According to a new Bravo report, Sonja Morgan is now revealing she's going to be there for Luann even though Tom was in her life first. She is closer with Luann than with Tom and she wants to be a support system for D'Agostino.
Friends come first
"I told Luann I'm there for her whether this worked out or not and here I am. Men come and go, and at the end the day, we have our girlfriends, don't we?" Sonja has said about Luann's divorce announcement, adding, "I wanted it to work out, but I want her to know I'm here for her."
Of course, Luann simply tweeted to the world that they had decided to divorce after trying to make it work for weeks.
Many believe that she finally learned that he had cheated on her and she followed through with her decision to divorce him. As for her co-stars, such as Ramona Singer and Morgan, they may feel that the divorce would happen because they had a feeling he was cheating on her. Luann hasn't revealed why she's divorcing him, but one can imagine she has her co-stars as friends during this time.
Could she trust Tom?
While Sonja Morgan may be there for Luann, one can imagine she isn't thinking about going back to Tom. Now that Luann has married him, he's essentially off limits for any of her friends. Plus, it is questionable whether she can trust him as he is known as a cheater. It sounds like he likes to get attention from women and he doesn't like to be tied down. This could be why his marriage failed.
