The two said "it hasn't been an easy decision" and that they were "saddened" of how things turned out between them. But despite the separation, Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi promised to support each other's endeavors.

On Wednesday, the former "Dancing With The Stars" contestant uploaded a picturesque sunset photo and wrote, "Something positive," his first Instagram update since the separation was announced.

Before that, Nick Viall told US Weekly that he still loves his ex-fiancé regardless of what happened in their relationship. He added that he has been surrounding himself with family and friends to help him get through the breakup.

"I’m trying to stay positive, being around friends and family. It helps me stay positive," he said. "In times that aren’t great, you have to kind of spend time with your loved ones."

He even shared his plan to visit his colleagues in Chicago over the weekend. Aside from that, the "Bachelor" host is trying to go easy on himself about the split.

Vanessa Grimaldi, on the other hand, shared an emotional message to her Instagram followers a few days after they delivered the unfortunate news.

"It's okay to feel broken. It's okay to cry. It's okay to lean on a friend. In the end, it will always be okay," she wrote.

A source told ET Online that the sped teacher has been leaning on to her family and friends in Canada since she and Nick Viall have called the engagement off.

Vanessa Grimaldi is also trying to lie low while both of them are working for a smooth separation.

In fact, it was revealed that the former "Bachelor" couple is still in contact in hopes to make the split easier for both parties. The source reassured that there is no bad blood between Nick Viall and Vanessa Grimaldi who are still close friends.

Both sides refused to talk further about the breakup and declined to provide the possible reasons that may have caused the separation. However, it is worth noting that the two were mired in breakup rumors a few months after their engagement was revealed in "The Bachelor" finale.
