Former BFFs Justin Bieber and Floyd Mayweather Jr. would likely need be seen together in expensive vacations like their last trip to Bora Bora. The Canadian singer would also likely not walk the unbeaten American boxer to his bout with MMA fighter Conor McGregor on Saturday.

Besides predicting that Mayweather will likely not knockout McGregor in the boxer’s return to the ring after his retirement, Bieber would likely not even watch the fight. The two buddies are not on speaking terms after the “Sorry” singer reportedly unfriended Mayweather on Instagram, The New York Daily News.

Mayweather goes nuclear

The newspaper reported that Mayweather went “insane” and “nuclear” after he learned what Bieber did. He even allegedly called the singer a traitor because the boxer stood up for Bieber when the young singer had his meltdowns. The decision of 23-year-old Bieber to unfollow the boxer was to create some space between his former BFF, TMZ reported.

It is the result of his recent counseling at Hillsong Church where Bieber has been active lately. He was asked to reevaluate his friends and place some boundaries between those who are considered bad influence in Bieber’s life. The Church did not single out Mayweather, but it was Bieber who made a choice to keep some distance from the boxer to stay away from things that Mayweather is obsessed with such as strip clubs.

Mayweather's domestic violence record

The Hillsong Church reportedly is the influence behind Bieber’s decision to cancel the rest of his Purpose tour. He is counseled by Pastor Carl Lentz, also the spiritual adviser of Bieber’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, Nick Jonas, and the Jenner sisters, WMagazine reported.

The magazine also cited Mayweather’s domestic violence record as another reason why Bieber decided to reevaluate his friendship with the boxer who has been convicted on five separate charges of violence against women, according to Boston Globe.

When Mayweather appeared on the show of Jimmy Kimmel, he was asked by the TV host if Bieber would be by his side on Saturday.

Mayweather said he was not sure. He replied, “Nah, Bieber found Jesus and he’s somewhere prayed up,” Complex quoted Mayweather.

The two had been BFFs for around five years. In 2012, Bieber accompanied Mayweather in his fight against Miguel Cotto. After Mayweather won, Bieber posed in the ring with the boxer and rapper friends 50 Cent and Lil Wayne.
