Screenwriter and director Ryan Murphy have confirmed the return of Emma Roberts on the set of "American Horror Story: Cult" in the FX franchise's seventh season. Murphy and Roberts posted an identical photo of the actress on Instagram wherein, the director captioned it with "Look who showed up on the set of ‘Cult’ looking glamorous and ready for action.” Aside from Murphy, the FX franchise itself confirmed to Variety that the actress has indeed agreed to join the new season.

The "American Horror Story" series is comprised of a different fictional horror story; some even relating to subtle reference to true stories.

The first season of the series featured a family of three who moved to Los Angeles, California in order to escape the anguish they experienced in Boston. As they settle in their new home, the horrors of living in a haunted house drove the family in a turmoil that eventually prodded the head of the family to practice demonic fight against the third dimension.

Since its creation in 2011, the "American Horror Story" series has completed six seasons mainly "Murder House," "Asylum," "Coven," "Freak Show," "Hotel," Roanoke," and "Cult" as the seventh season entry. The success of the series reflected on its previous actors wherein, some of them won awards. Jessica Lange, in particular, won an Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actor Guilds Award for portraying in the horror series.

New comers on the seventh season

Meanwhile, this new season of the horror series features other returning casts mainly Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters. "Scream Queens" Billie Lourd, on the other hand, will also join the cast as a new comer including Lena Dunham and Billy Eichner. Emma Roberts also starred on "Scream Queens" and has played roles in previous seasons of the AMH mainly the "Coven" and Freak Show" series.

On October 4, 2016, the "American Horror Story" series was renewed for the seventh season; now entitled "Cult" and is scheduled to air in the United States on September 5, 2017. Meanwhile, on January 12, 2017, the series has also been renewed for its eighth and ninth season with titles to be revealed soon.
