Kailyn Lowry of "Teen Mom 2" gave birth to a healthy baby boy in the wee hours of the morning of August 5. While she has stated several times in the media that the legal father of the child is Chris Lopez, a friend of hers from Delaware State University, a Delaware law was discovered that states there are some sticky legalities when it comes to the paternity of her child.
Since Javi Marroquin and Kail haven't been divorced long enough, state law actually names Javi as the father until it can be proven otherwise. Once he found out about this law, Javi says he immediately took action with his lawyers to ensure that it didn't become a problem.
Javi is "pretty sure" he is not legally the father
Javi has stated that he is "pretty sure" he is not considered the father of Kail's newest addition, Baby Lo. The military man has stated that he will definitely not be taking responsibility for the baby, as it is "definitely" not his and the father of the child has already been confirmed. It is uncertain if Javi has already taken a paternity test to prove that he is not, in fact, Baby Lo's father. He did, however, make a statement to Us Weekly in regards to how the situation is being handled.
"Everything should be taken care of on the legalities of the new baby, I'm pretty sure," he said.
Could he actually be the father of Baby Lo?
There are some rumors in the "Teen Mom 2" universe that Javi Marroquin might be the father of Kail's baby, or that Kail is unsure who the father actually is. According to some, Kail and Javi hooked up around the time Baby Lo was conceived, as the pair appeared on Marriage Bootcamp: Reality Stars around that time.
Their episode has yet to air, but many think that a paternity test would need to be ordered because it could be possible that Javi and Kailyn did accidentally conceive another baby.
While rumors have been swirling about the child's paternity, Chris Lopez has already taken ownership and responsibility. He has claimed Baby Lo as his and was actually at the child's delivery, despite speculation that he might try to skip it due to his issues with Kail.
Although Kailyn Lowry confessed during an episode of "Teen Mom 2" that she hoped the pair would work it out, she has stated on her Twitter numerous times that she is okay with being a single mother and isn't necessarily bothered by not having anyone to help her out with the new baby. She is, however, a little bit nervous about taking care of the child alone from day one.
