“White Gold” was previously produced for BBC Two and ran for six episodes before moving to Netflix. The character Westwick is playing goes by the name of Vincent Swan. He is a narcissistic and cocky sales agent in Essex who is commanded to sell double-glazed windows. The comedic turn of the new series will shine as the character uses his wit, lies, and charms in order to make that big sale, Decider added.

Damon Beesley, the director and writer of the Netflix show told The Hollywood Reporter that the characters will be loved and enjoyed by audiences. This is because they are very interesting and complex, and despite their flaws, they will be “endearingly handsome and charismatic,” he said.

Westwick's major shift

The 30-year-old actor is now shifting from his upper-class New Yorker role from “Gossip Girl,” the series that catapulted him to fame, to a comic role as a struggling salesman in England.

Previously, he acted alongside his co-stars Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley and Chace Crawford.

These actors portrayed the roles of Serena van der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf, Dan Humphrey and Nate Archibald, respectively.
