"General Hospital" spoilers delivered another shocking "GH" exit as Daytime Confidential exclusively reported minutes ago that Robert Palmer Watkins is off the ABC soap. Watkins plays Dillon Quartermaine, son of Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) and improbable serial killer Paul Hornsby (Richard Burgi). Unless they do a recast, this means the Quartermaine's have become few and far between with Jane Elliot's exit just a few months ago and now this devastating blow to fans.

Actor "blindsided" by firing

Daytime Confidential's "General Hospital" spoilers sources said that Robert Palmer Watkins was "blindsided" and that he did not want to leave the show.

It appears the dismissal came a few days ago if what Robert Palmer Watkins tweeted is tied to his leaving the ABC soap. On Tuesday, August 15, Watkins tweeted, "Sometimes in life a door closes only so a window can open. There is so much to accomplish and see in this life."

That tweet included a behind the scenes shot from Watkins' new movie he's shooting titled "Last Three Days." The talented actor-singer has been busy with lots of other projects, so the good news is that he's not hurting for work. He has one completed film, a TV movie titled "Executive Protection" with no assigned release date. There's also "This Is Us" that's in the can but has not been released yet plus a film called "5 Weddings" due out later this year and this latest film due out next year.

What will happen with Kiki?

"General Hospital" spoilers questions emerge from this casting shake-up about the fate of Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin) and her love affair with Dillon.

Will Kiki get a new guy? Or is she also destined for the chopping block? It seems there's a budgetary blood bath brewing over at "GH" since the Steve Burton cast announcement was made. Rumor has it that Burton scored a seven figure deal and Executive Producer Frank Valentini is cutting corners elsewhere in the budget to pay for his costly return.

Rebecca Budig has final scenes coming in a few weeks since she was axed from the show weeks ago and now this dismissal. Granted "General Hospital" has an oversized cast, so pruning is not a bad idea, but when it's fan favorites that are affected, ratings might be impacted. One alternative for Kiki is that she might turn her eyes back to her ex Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell). Although Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) is not a particular fan of Kiki's, she'd much rather Michael be with Kiki than Nelle Hayes (Chloe Lanier).
