Season 7 of “Game of Thrones” has ended, and in typical “Game of Thrones” fashion, beloved characters died. Here are those characters.

Obara and Nymeria Sand

In “Stormborn,” Euron Greyjoy’s fleet attacked Yara’s fleet which was headed to Dorne. Euron killed the two Sand Snakes with their own weapons, Obara’s spear, and Nymeria’s whip. By the end of the episode, their bodies were hanging at the mast of the ship.

Olenna Tyrell

The fan favorite Queen of Thorns exited the show in a very Olenna Tyrell fashion in “The Queen’s Justice.” Initially, Cersei wanted to give her a cruel death, but Jaime convinced her otherwise.

He offered Olenna a glass of poisoned wine. She drank the poison without any hesitations, then she admitted that she was the one who poisoned Joffrey at the Purple Wedding.

Randyll and Dickon Tarly

Randyll and Dickon Tarly with some Tarly and Lannister men were the few survivors of the Loot Train Battle. In “Eastwatch,” Daenerys offered them to bend the knee or refuse and die. The two Tarlys refused to bend the knee and were burned to ashes (in an instant) by Drogon.

Thoros of Myr

Thoros joined Jon Snow’s mission of capturing a wight in “Beyond the Wall.” The group encountered a wight-polar bear that attacked Thoros. He survived the bear’s wounds, but he eventually froze to death during the stand-off against the wights and the White Walkers.

Benjen Stark

Uncle Benjen was already half-wight (half-dead) when he saved Bran and Meera from a wight’s attack in Season 6. In “Beyond the Wall,” he returned to save Jon just in time. He sent Jon back to Eastwatch on his horse and sacrificed himself to the wights.

Viserion

The death of one of Daenerys’ dragons was a shock to many fans even though Qyburn has already pointed out that dragons are vulnerable.

The Night King killed Viserion in “Beyond the Wall” with an ice spear and sank into the frozen lake. At the end of the episode, Viserion was dragged out of the lake and the Night King turned him into a White-Walker-dragon.

Petyr Baelish

In “The Dragon and the Wolf,” Littlefinger met his demise at the hands of the Stark children.

Sansa pointed out his crimes – murder of Jon and Lysa Arynn, started the conflict between the Starks and the Lannisters, a murder attempt on Bran and his betrayal of Ned Stark. As brilliant of a villain and schemer, he was, Sansa has bested him in his game with the help from Arya and Bran. Littlefinger was killed by his own game, words, and dagger.

Others

  • The Frey Men that Arya killed in the opening scene of “Dragonstone” and Season 7.
  • The Lannister and Tarly men that were killed by the Dothraki and burned by Drogon in “The Spoils of War.”
