Even though they are separated, they are still working together. "Flip or Flop" stars Tarek and Christina El Moussa announced on Friday, August 4 that they are launching a new show together that will air on HGTV. Even though their marriage did not work out after seven years, they have an excellent working relationship.

New show

The estranged couple's latest venture was announced when Tarek El Moussa posted a photo on his Instagram account. This time the couple will be working behind the camera as executive producers instead of in front of it. The new show, "Chi-Town Flip," will debut as a pilot on Sunday, August 6 at 2 p.m.

and will feature another couple instead of the El Moussas.

The couple featured is from the Success Path house flipping school. When Bryan and Mayra were first seen at the school, they had never flipped a house before, but they had a great interest in doing so. They displayed hard work and dedication to the job. Today, they are successful as house flippers in Chicago, Illinois. Now the El Moussas are great friends with the couple that viewers will see on the pilot of "Chi-Town Flip."

Based on the name of the show, it appears that every episode will be set in Chicago where houses are flipped. Make sure you watch the pilot to see if Tarek and Christina El Moussa are as good behind the camera as executive producers as they are in front of it as house flippers.

Update on relationship

Tarek and Christina were married in 2009. The couple secretly separated in May 2016, and Tarek officially filed for divorce in January 2017 citing irreconcilable differences. They have two children together, 6-year-old daughter Taylor Reese and 2-year-old son Brayden James.

Tarek appeared on "The Doctors" and shared what he thinks went wrong in the marriage.

He indicated that because they were too busy working on other things they did not take the time to communicate with each other to have a better relationship. He said as time went on they got busier and busier with their projects and they neglected to be husband and wife.

It is unclear whether the couple is still just separated or if their divorce has been finalized.

There are conflicting reports. It is probably because they never stopped working together and have often been seen together after the separation. Whether they are officially divorced or not, they still co-parent their two children, and now they have taken on another job as executive producers.
