Chrissy Teigen is not ashamed to admit her body insecurities even after she has established her model image. The mother of one, who was first discovered in sports illustrated Swimsuit Edition in 2010, admitted that she worried about not having the perfect figure, unlike other celebrities.

Teigen opens up about her insecurities as a model

“There have been times I’ve cried to John [Legend], where I felt like I would never have that body," she said, according to Hollywood Life. "Everyone has a butt now and curves and a little waist and that’s not me."

But despite wishing to have that perfect body, Chrissy Teigen was inspired by her fans to accept her uniqueness and imperfection.

“I’m jealous of those bodies and I want that, but I also feel like I really want to be cool with my body because of people like you guys," she mused.

The 31-year-old star has been in the fashion industry since 2004. She has also worked as a substitute model on "Deal or No Deal" for a couple of years before she was featured on the cover of Maxim's calendar in 2007. Her credits include promotions for brands Billabong, Gap Factory, Beach Bunny Swimwear, Nike, Gillette Venus, and a lot more.

She was named Rookie of the Year by Sports Illustrated during her first year in the media outlet. But before she rose to popularity, Chrissy Teigen fell in love with John Legend whom she dated for four years before they got engaged in 2011.

Inside John and Chrissy's relationship

The couple met on the set of "Stereo" music video filming although the singer revealed that it was not love at first sight when he met the model. John Legend explained that he was then more cautious about long-term relationships and did not think that Chrissy Teigen was the one for him.

"It was probably a couple of years in when I could already see us being together forever," he confessed as cited by US Magazine.

The model, on the other hand, said she played it cool and never pressured the singer about their relationship. "The worst thing you can do is try to lock someone like that down early on," she explained.

After six years of dating, the two finally tied the knot in Italy on September 14, 2013. John Legend and Chrissy Teigen welcomed their first child, Luna Simone, on April 14, 2016.

In an Instagram post, the American model admitted that she suffered postpartum depression after she gave birth to their daughter.

She went on to say that the anxiety was "eating [her] up inside for months and months" before she finally found the courage to speak up to remind other women that it could happen to anyone.
