There's much to look forward to this September when the Fall TV season returns with a lot of viewers' favorites. This includes "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 5 and "Jane the Virgin" season 4, two comedy powerhouses in the FOX and The CW networks, respectively. This September, fans of the Andy Samberg-led "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" will return to television, giving a resolution to the massive cliffhanger the show left last season.

Viewers will finally get to see whether Jake (Samberg) and Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz) get out of the sticky predicament they got themselves into when dirty cop Lt.

Melanie Hawkins (Gina Gershon) framed them for robbery. As for "Jane the Virgin" season 3, fans will also get to see what becomes of Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) love life now that someone from the past has come back into her life. There's some great news for fans of both shows who are dreaming of a crossover, however. Rodriguez recently spoke about how she wants to guest star in the FOX comedy in a very particular role.

Gina Rodriguez wants to be Rosa Diaz's girlfriend

"Jane the Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez recently spoke to Autostraddle to talk about how she is a fan of the FOX comedy and her desire to be on the show, in a very particular role.

She explained, "I want to play [Rosa's] love interest so bad. I really hope they make that happen." While Dan Goor and Michael Schur haven't announced who will guest star in "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 5, it's safe to say that Rodriguez is definitely in.

Now, it would only be a matter of scheduling and how they would potentially write her character into the story.

Right now, Rosa is still with Adrian Pimento, played by Jason Mantzoukas. Mantzoukas recently expressed his enjoyment about being on the show and how he enjoys the company of his co-stars. It would be interesting to see how Pimento would react in case he and Rosa break up, given that they are engaged.

Jake and Rosa may have gone to jail

When "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 5 returns this September 26, viewers will get to see whether or not Jake and Rosa have indeed gone to jail for a crime they did not commit. Towards the end of last month, the cast took their promotional photos for the upcoming season, and Beatriz took to Instagram to share a behind the scenes photo. In it, Samberg's Jake Peralta was sporting a beard, possibly indicating a time jump from the season finale to the upcoming premiere, which is set to air on FOX on September 26 at 9:30 p.m.
