Robert Pattinson has been making rounds on the internet after he said that he is still "kind of" engaged to longtime fiance, FKA Twigs, in an interview a few weeks ago. But before the issue could even die down, the "Remember Me" actor got involved in another controversy for spending his Saturday night with Katy Perry and Co. at Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood, California.

Inside Rob and Katy's dinner date

Multiple sources told E! News that the two are "very good friends" and have "always kept in touch" with each other. An insider claimed that Robert Pattinson "has always had an interest in Katy [Perry]" but clarified that the two are "not serious" about being romantically involved for now.

During their dinner date with friends, the "Dark Horse" singer reportedly sat down next to the actor when she arrived at the restaurant at around 9:00 p.m. An onlooker told the publication that the two were allegedly "flirting" and "laughing" the entire time. At some point, Katy Perry rested her head on his shoulder, while Robert Pattinson had his arm around her.

The onlooker added that the pair could not stop giggling and staring at each other the whole time. They even stepped out to smoke and stayed on the balcony for about 20 minutes. The insider went on to claim that the 31-year-old actor "wasn't acting engaged" when he was with the singer.

Is it over between Rob and FKA Twigs?

Another source said that Robert Pattinson "already feels single" after he realized the tension and distance in his relationship with FKA Twigs for the past couple of months. It explained that the couple "really tried" to make things work between them before they actually broke up.

In fact, FKA Twigs recently shared a photo of herself on Instagram without her engagement ring.

"They were serious at one point, but not anymore," the insider added.

An affiliate of Katy Perry, however, clarified that there is nothing going on between the singer and the actor. It reassured that the "Wide Awake" artist has no interest in getting involved with someone who is already taken.

This is not the first time Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson were mired in dating rumors.

In 2013, the 32-year-old singer addressed the same issue and recalled how she reached out to the actor's then girlfriend, Kristen Stewart, to set the records straight.

The singer revealed that she sent a message to Kristen Stewart to reassure her that she "would never disrespect" the actress and to explain that she was just trying to be friends with Robert Pattinson.
