Anna Faris and Chris Pratt are now heading to splitsville after eight years of marriage according to US Weekly. The “Guardians of the Galaxy” star took to his Facebook page to officially announce their separation while “The Bunny House” actress posted the same message on her Instagram.
While the two had been mum as to the specific reasons for their split, an earlier interview with People may hold some clues as to the couple's struggles.
In July, Anna Faris admitted that life under the scrutiny of the public is tricky to handle. The actors themselves aren’t always prepared to play two different roles. “There are two different roles that you play — the one on-camera and the one in public,” she continued. “That’s the tricky part.” Having said this, many there are speculations suggesting that the power couple couldn’t bear the strain of being of Hollywood’s celebrated couple.
At the time of the interview, Faris expressed how the two enjoyed mundane tasks such as doing the laundry and working in the garage.
Meanwhile, Pratt shared a touching message after the “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” premiere in April. He admitted that press tours can be hectic, but having Faris and his 4-year-old kid just made it all seem worth it.
